The Old House The Old House, built around 1724, is a wonderful antique itself. The shop has been in business for more than 60 years and carries vintage collectibles such as Early American pressed glass, blown glass, and china. The gift shop across the street specializes in new goods--linen calendars, Vermont country toys, and character mice. The two shops are open from April to the end of December, every day except Sunday. Pocasset Exchange A longtime Bourne antiques shop set off Mass. Rt. 28 at the corner of County Road and Barlows Landing Road, the Pocasset Exchange carries antiques, vintage jewelry, collectible linens, and odd lots of glass and china, furniture, and household objects. The Exchange is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from April through November. Horsefeathers Antiques Owner Jeanne Gresham has created a distinctly Victorian and feminine feeling in this lovely shop, which carries table and bed linens, antique lace and trim, and a mix of everyday and special items such as china teacups and paper valentines. Antique christening gowns and other children's clothing are usually available. The shop is usually open 10 AM to 5 PM daily year-round, but it's best to call first in the off-season, when hours vary. The Weather Store New Englanders have a long history of trying to understand, predict, and maybe even outsmart the weather, which can be downright unpredictable in these parts. Testament to that history, this store is filled with antique weather instruments such as weather vanes, barometers, thermometers, books, and compasses, along with marine antiques such as spyglasses and 19th-century maps. The store is open Monday through Saturday from April through Christmas and by appointment at other times. Aurora Borealis Antiques Here you'll find a quality line of Staffordshire, Orientalia, prints, furniture, nautical pieces, lamps, silver, and glass, along with ephemera and books. The shop is open Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in season and by appointment or chance in the off-season. The Village Barn This lovely old barn, built around 1850, is home to eight dealers with an eclectic assortment of antiques on two floors, including some wonderful glass and china, furniture, and linens. One dealer specializes in Cape Cod souvenirs and old advertising. The Village Barn, located in an area home to several other antique shops, is open year round, 10 AM to 5 PM daily in season and generally weekends only from January to March, depending on the weather.

Sow's Ear Antique Company The Sow's Ear is in a 1729 house that is considered the oldest in Cotuit. A browser's delight, this period home is filled with 18th and 19th century furnishings and accessories. Here you might find unusual furniture, rugs, baskets, dolls, decoys, vases, silver, folk art, or other treasures. Blended among the antiques are some new items, such as candles and light fixtures. Located right next door to the Cahoon Museum of American Art, the shop is open year-round, Tuesday through Sunday, 10 AM to 5 PM. The Farmhouse This lovely mid-18th-century building is full of a
wide and ever-changing variety of antiques and collectibles Stanley Wheelock In its 13th year, this established Osterville business is known for its general line of American, English, and Continental furniture, decorative accessories, china, glass, and fine prints. It is open Monday through Saturday from April through December and by chance or appointment from January through March. |

Maps of Antiquity You could spend your whole day in this store
looking through old maps. These are hand-printed maps from the skilled
hands of a craftsman or artist. Maps of Antiquity mostly offers
19th-century maps but it also has some earlier ones, including those of
Massachusetts townships and other New England states. European and world
maps, railroad maps, coastal charts, and early U.S. maps are also part of
the collection. If you can't find a specific map in their inventory, the
store may be able to order it. The shop is open seven days a week, 10 AM
to 5 PM Memorial Day weekend to early fall and then most weekends until
the year ends. West Barnstable Antiques The ample inventory of furniture includes many
desks, tables, and occasional pieces, particularly in primitive and Shaker
styles. The shop's Chinese exports, artwork, painted pieces, and stoneware
are also worth a look, and the shop has some sports memorabilia as well.
It is open daily in season, and Friday through Monday from January through
March. Constance Goff Antiques A genteel air pervades this orderly shop, which
features lovely 19th-century furniture and accessories including rugs and
lamps along with jewelry, silver, and a large selection of English Flow
Blue and White Ironstone. The shop, now in its 24th year, is open Monday
through Saturday from mid-June to mid-September, Wednesday through
Saturday in the spring and fall, and by chance or appointment. Maritime Antiques Located upstairs from Constance Goff Antiques (see
previous listing), this well-regarded shop specializes in nautical pieces
and is a regular stop for collectors of maritime paraphernalia. You'll
find scrimshaw, ship models, paintings, bells, flags, and Civil War
memorabilia. It's open mostly by chance or appointment, so call ahead. Minden Lane Antiques A year-round shop, Minden Lane Antiques carries
period pieces for the home and garden, such as European and American
furniture, including French and Italian tables and chairs. Other
interesting items include antique signs, Oriental rugs, large outdoor urns
and birdbaths. The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday. The Town Crier An antique shop since 1954, The Town Crier became a
cooperative in 1980, making it one of the earliest antique cooperatives on
the Cape. It now has five dealer members, displaying a mix of items from
old tools and postcards to dolls, glass, and china. The shop, which is
open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM, except Sundays, from May to mid-October, is
housed in an 1840 building that has in years past been a store, a post
office, and a meeting place for the ladies' sewing circle. Yarmouthport Antiques In its 16th year, this shop deals in Early American
furniture, Chinese exports, patterned glass, china and pewter. The
inventory also includes paintings, fireplace items, pottery, and decoys.

Entering its eighth year, this huge center has almost 285 dealers
selling everything from wooden iceboxes to old dolls. In addition to the
main building, with 18,000 square feet on two floors (be sure to go
upstairs, where some real treasures are displayed), there is now a
consignment warehouse in back. Certainly the largest antique center on the
Cape, this place can be a bit overwhelming to the uninitiated, but odds
are you won't leave empty-handed. Put on your walking shoes and check it
out! It's open daily all year except January through March, when it's
closed on Wednesdays Red Lion Antiques With 17 dealers crammed into two floors, the Red
Lion can only be described as eclectic. One dealer specializes in antique
clocks and repairs them as well. You'll also find assorted china, silver,
and collectibles. It's open daily year-round, except January through

Kingsland Manor This place will take your breath away. Aptly named, Kingsland Manor is filled with an impressive and varied collection of antiques from Tiffany silver to Victorian furniture. The shop houses quite a lot of large furniture, including some unusual pieces, as well as smaller items. There's a collection of old canes with ivory and brass handles and a case full of military miniatures. A courtyard with a fountain leads to two outbuildings also filled with unusual and classic antiques. It's open year-round, seven days a week except for Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Monomoy Antiques Housed in an 1860s carriage house on the corner of Crosby Lane, this neat-as-a-pin shop has lovely furniture, old light fixtures, sterling silver and books. There's also a great selection of old andirons and cooking utensils displayed in the building's original brick fireplace. In its seventh year, the shop is open daily from May through October, and Friday through Monday the rest of the year. The Barn at Windsong A single-dealer antique shop for more than 25 years, this lovely old barn became a group shop in 1988 and now houses the wares of seven dealers, making it a browser's delight. You'll find linens, lace, children's prints, collectibles, silver, Staffordshire, and primitives, among other items. The shop is open daily, May through October. Harwich Antiques Center Opened in the fall of 1996, this four-building complex has some 147 dealers displaying furniture, paintings, decoys, antique tools, cranberry memorabilia, silver, and cut glass. There's a large assortment of majolica, along with porcelain, dinnerware, linen, and quilts. Located across the street from Friendly's close to the Dennis town line, the center is open daily all year, with evening hours in summer. The Mews Antiques Located in an old barn at the corner of Ayer Lane, this shop is shared by five dealers who specialize in a range of antiques from early American pattern glass to primitives. You'll also find Dedham and Dorchester pottery, milk glass, and oil lamps. The shop is open daily from May through October. Chatham Antiques Here's a wonderful selection of antiques displayed in an antique setting! It's an authentic old Cape farmhouse (c. 1674) filled with early American furniture, clocks, paintings, china, pewter, silver, and glass. This friendly shop, in business 20 years, is open May through October and by chance or appointment in the off-season months. House on the Hill You'll find a delightful collection of baseball cards and sports memorabilia, political pins, toys, old advertisements, postcards, and Cape Cod memorabilia here, along with glass, china, and small furniture. The shop keeps extended hours in summer, usually until dusk, and is open by chance or appointment the rest of the year. The Spyglass This fascinating shop specializes in 18th- and 19th-century marine antiques. You'll find aneroid and mercurial barometers, globes, sextants, writing boxes, centuries-old maps and navigation charts, half models, and other nautical memorabilia, along with early American portraits and what is probably the world's largest collection of antique floor-mounted telescopes. The shop, in business since 1981, is open year round, daily in summer and through October but closed Sundays the rest of the year. The Spyglass has a second shop, at 2257 Rt. 6A in Brewster, with period furniture and early Americana items. Countryside Antiques Tucked away off Main Street on the way to Nauset Beach (look for Lewis Road on the right after Fancy's Farm Stand), this shop is filled with beautiful imported furniture, both antique and reproduction, as well as some wonderful accessory accents. Owners Richard and Deborah Rita travel abroad several times a year to find the best English, Irish, and Scandinavian antique and reproduction furniture to fill their shop, and the annex in the barn behind the main store. Countryside is open May through early December, and by chance or appointment after that. Pleasant Bay Antiques This shop, housed in a 200-year-old barn and a portion of the attached house, is filled with some of the loveliest early American furniture you'll find anywhere, including tables, highboys, desks, and four-poster beds. You're likely to find grandfather clocks, elegant secretary desks and dining tables. Don't miss the decoy room, and be sure to go up to the loft, which is filled with antique chairs. In its 32nd year under owner Steve Tyng, the shop is open year-round. Farmhouse Antiques What a fun shop to wander through! This old farmhouse is jammed with Orientalia, vintage linen, decorative pieces, and more ephemera--postcards, trading cards, advertising ads, and magazines--than you'll know what to do with. You can also find restored antique lamps, lighting fixtures, and original pieces by local artist Diane Vetromile, who has been known to cover an entire table with buttons to fabulous effect. Truly an experience for adventurous treasure-hunters, the shop is open daily year-round. Clifford-Williams Antiques &
Gifts Perched above a cheese shop overlooking busy Commercial Street, Clifford-Williams is a place for serious antique shoppers. Open year-round, the shop carries a selection of decorative accessories and lighting. West End Antiques Launched in 1994, this well-regarded old shop offers a great collection of old Provincetown souvenirs, advertising, and memorabilia, children's collectibles, clocks, and lots of lovely glass, particularly Depression glass. It also has china and art pottery, especially Roseville. Open daily in summer, except for Sundays. It is open weekends in spring and late fall and closed January to March. |
