Bourne Health Care Three hospitals (Falmouth Hospital and two off-Cape, in Wareham and Plymouth) are within a 20-minute drive of this year-round, walk-in clinic, which has a physician on call at all times. Medical services include minor surgical procedures, lab and x-ray, immunizations, and allergy injections. Major insurance and Medicare are accepted. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5 PM and on Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM. It is closed on Sunday. The Rehabilitation Hospital for
the Cape and Islands An independently owned rehabilitation hospital, The Rehabilitation Hospital offers comprehensive rehab treatment for adult inpatients and adult and child outpatients. With 60 beds and a staff of 200, its resources include a therapeutic pool, a home-activities apartment, specialized evaluations (including hearing), state-of-the-art exercise equipment, and orthotics and prosthetics clinics. The hospital provides treatment for a variety of conditions including stroke, joint replacement, neurological conditions, complex medical conditions, back and neck injuries, amputation, chronic pain, and work-related and sports injuries. The hospital has a branch in Orleans, which provides comprehensive outpatient therapy for children and adults (see subsequent listing). Mashpee Family Medicine This family practice sees patients of all ages, from infants to centenarians. Open from 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday, and 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays, the practice offers walk-in care between 9 and 11 AM and 1 to 3 PM. Mashpee Family Medicine offers both family and urgent care. The office prides itself on offering same-day care.

Cape Cod Breast Evaluation Center Right next to Cape Cod Hospital, this year-round facility provides on-site mammograms and ultrasounds, as well as physical examinations. Although appointments are generally scheduled well in advance, there are usually a few open slots at short notice. The office is open from Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM Health Stop of Hyannis You can see a physician by appointment or on a walk-in basis any day of the year. The hours are 8 AM to 8 PM Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday and 11 AM to 5 PM Sunday. Mid-Cape Medical Center Open since 1981 for daily year-round health-care, this walk-in center has on-duty physicians and provides medical, lab, and X-ray service. It does immunizations for patients age 12 and older, PAP smears and gynecological exams, and routine physicals. The center also treats minor injuries, such as cuts, abrasions, lacerations, and simple fractures. The center, which is about a mile from Cape Cod Hospital, accepts most types of insurance. It opens at 8 AM every day and stays open until 7:45 PM Monday through Thursday, 4:45 PM Friday and Saturday, and 1 PM Sunday. In most cases, you do not need an appointment. Cape Cod Artificial Kidney Center This is a year-round, outpatient hemodialysis unit. It does not usually have a waiting list. Hours vary, but are generally Monday through Saturday 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with longer hours in summer. Cape Cod Medical Center This full-service facility, with one attending physician and a physician's assistant, welcomes walk-in patients. The center accepts most insurance and credit cards. In the winter, the center is open Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Saturday 9 AM to 3 PM. In summer the center is also open on Sundays from 9 AM to 2 PM

Long Pond Medical Center Formerly Medicenter Five, this medical center became part of Cape Cod Healthcare Inc. in 1997, but still provides the same comprehensive care for everything from fractures to hives. In the winter, the center is open Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM In the summer, there are weekend hours as well. The center accepts most insurance and major credit cards. Orleans Medical Center Established in 1984, this center offers walk-in attention for urgent medical needs. It is open all year Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM. In July and August the center is also open Saturdays from 8 to 11:30 AM. It accepts some insurance plans and MasterCard and Visa. RHCI-Orleans This branch of the Rehabilitation Hospital for the Cape and Islands (see our listing in the Upper Cape section), provides comprehensive outpatient therapy for children and adults including physical, occupational, speech, and language therapy. It also offers physician services with board-certified rehabilitation physicians, a gym, and specialized services such as electro-diagnostic testing. Outer Cape Health Services Outer Cape Health Services is affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. The Orleans office is much smaller than the Wellfleet or Provincetown sites (see following entries). Call ahead for an appointment. Outer Cape Health Services Outer Cape Health Services offers a full range of services for acute and chronic medical conditions. It has a lab and X-ray facility, and a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses. Walk-in care is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The center accepts most insurance plans and credit cards, and also offers a sliding-scale payment plan for low-income patients. Winter hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday, plus extended evening hours until 8 PM on Wednesday and Friday. In summer, it is also open Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Outer Cape Health Services The services offered here are the same as at the Wellfleet center (previous listing). Winter hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday, with evening hours until 8 PM on Tuesday and Thursday, and 9 AM to noon on Saturday. Summer hours are the same except Saturdays, when the facility stays open until 1 PM.

Complete Wellness This new center is unusual in that it combines conventional and alternative medicine, offering treatment by an M.D.--Dr. Patricia Fater--as well as nutrition, herbology, energy healing, stress management, massage, myotherapy, and psychotherapy. The center also has its own on-site lab. Appointments are necessary. Great Marsh Chiropractic Great Marsh has two staff chiropractors, Dr. Christian Smith and Dr. John Dorris, along with a massage therapist who is on hand during office hours. The center is open Monday to Friday, with evening hours on Thursday.
